The small village of Chester in Orange County was the setting for a tragic multi-vehicle accident over the weekend. Law enforcement and first responders quickly arrived at the scene, but few details have been released about the incident so far.

The accident occurred on Saturday, December 14, 2024, during the late morning hours.
Neighbors in the area were startled awake by a loud bang around 10am, as reported by News 12: Hudson Valley.
The collision between the two SUVs and the pick-up truck caused a loud bang in front of the Chester Firehouse, as captured in a video by Rockland Video on their YouTube channel. The impact resulted in significant damage to all three vehicles involved, with two of them being completely mangled and barely recognizable.

Route 94 was closed due to the accident, resulting in a closure that lasted well into the afternoon. However, the route was eventually reopened.
Questions Left to Answer
The details surrounding the extensive collision remain unclear at this time. However, it is important to note that several people sustained injuries in the accident, tragically resulting in the death of one individual.
The exact number of people involved in the incident is currently unknown, as well as the severity of their injuries and their current condition.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. However, according to the report, some individuals described Route 94 as a “raceway” and mentioned that it is common for people to ignore the stop sign at the location and drive through it.
