According to HCSO, a driver collided with a truck that was traveling in the opposite direction while attempting to split lanes.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez., a fiery crash in east Harris County on Saturday night claimed the lives of two individuals. The crash occurred on Wallisville Road, close to Greens Bayou and Highway 90.

A gray Honda Accord was driving eastbound on Wallisville Road and was straddling the divider line, according to an update from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday morning. During the course of its journey, the Honda collided with a Ram 1500 that was traveling in the opposite direction, resulting in the Honda spinning out of control. A driver in a black Chrysler Pacifica witnessed the Honda’s spinning and attempted to steer clear of it. Unfortunately, the Honda still managed to collide with the Chrysler before ultimately colliding with a blue Hyundai Sonata.

The driver of the Hyundai exhibited signs of intoxication and was transported to a local hospital, according to HCSO. Authorities also discovered that he was in possession of a handgun. Pending the results of toxicology tests, the driver may face charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

According to the sheriff’s office, the two other drivers remained at the scene and collaborated with the investigation.
