A Florida club owner was found guilty of running an organized drug and human trafficking ring.
On Wednesday, the Florida Attorney General’s Office stated that 45-year-old Ioannis Pahoumis was found guilty of racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, cocaine trafficking, and other felonies.
“Thanks to the assistance of our law enforcement partners and the hard work of Assistant Statewide Prosecutors Debra Bell and Ryan Shaw, we have secured a guilty conviction of a club owner at the center of a drug and human trafficking ring,” said Attorney General James Uthmeier. “By going after criminals and holding them accountable, we can continue making our home safe, strong, and free.”
The Tampa Police Department launched the investigation, which centered on drug sales and human trafficking at Pahoumis’ establishment, the Risque Gentlemen’s Club. The Attorney General’s Office stated that undercover operations showed many drug sales from dancers and employees, as well as proposals for commercial sex acts. The evidence indicated Pahoumis’ involvement in these criminal acts as the club’s owner.
Pahoumis was convicted of racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, trafficking in cocaine in excess of 28 grams, conspiracy to traffic in cocaine in excess of 28 grams, and money laundering in excess of $100,000. He is expected to be sentenced on May 27 in Hillsborough County.
