Florida Man Apprehended With Meth In Northeast Iowa Is Sentenced To Prison

A Florida man caught with around a pound of methamphetamine in northeast Iowa has been sentenced to jail.

Steven Gerald Lorentz, 63, of Winter Haven, Florida, was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison and fined $5,000. Lorentz pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine with intent to supply on March 31, 2024, in Bremer County.

Lorentz was pulled down for speeding on Highway 218, and a search of his vehicle revealed around one pound of meth.

Charges of failing to utilize a medication tax stamp, as well as five counts of criminal possession of a prescription substance, were dropped as part of a plea deal.
