Two Florida men face kidnapping charges after police discovered them with two teenage girls from Clayton.
According to Clayton police, Ericson Leonel Ullo-Flores, 18, of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Edwin Alberto Cardenas, 22, of Daytona Beach, Florida, were arrested on Sunday night with assistance from the Daytona Beach Police Department (Florida) and the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (Florida).
Clayton police said the men are still in custody in Florida awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
Clayton police predict additional charges.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, Clayton police officers responded to a call from parents reporting that their 14- and 15-year-old daughters were missing. The parents told authorities that they last saw their girls at 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Clayton police did not know who had picked up the two teenagers, but they did leave a letter suggesting they were leaving with some “guys they met.” According to police, the teenagers departed on their own and were not kidnapped.
Police reported that neither teen had a phone with them when they left the house.
Authorities eventually discovered that both teenage females were safe. Police stated the girls will return to their parents.
