The Northeast is bracing for a series of powerful winter storms in the coming days. These storms will bring a mix of snow, sleet, and rain, creating challenging conditions for the region. Furthermore, there are indications that more winter systems could be on their way for the weekend and even into next week. The Northeast will need to remain prepared for continued wintry weather and potential disruptions.
According to the National Weather Service, the initial batch of systems is expected to reach the East Coast on Tuesday afternoon, February 11, before gradually making its way northward.
The southern parts of the Northeast, including Washington, DC, are expected to receive the heaviest snowfall with widespread totals of 3 to 6 inches. The latest projections, shown in the first image above from AccuWeather, were released on Tuesday morning.

On Monday, February 10, we can expect mainly sunny weather with seasonably cold temperatures before the arrival of the new storm.
A fresh system filled with snow, ice, and rain is set to arrive on Wednesday, Feb. 12 and continue into Thursday, Feb. 13, following the departure of the initial storm. This new system is projected to move from the south to the north.
The second storm, like the first one, is expected to reach southern areas of the Northeast before moving northward on Wednesday night. It will continue to affect the region until midday on Thursday before eventually moving out of New England.
Most areas in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New England can expect light snowfall amounts, with the majority of accumulation occurring farther north and inland.

The second storm will also cause widespread icing, with the potential for significant ice accumulation in the areas indicated by the darker shade of pink in the fourth image above.
The weather forecast for Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 14 looks promising with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in line with the season. However, there is a possibility of another storm over the weekend.
Another storm is forecasted for Saturday, February 15th into Sunday, February 16th, followed by another storm towards the end of Presidents Day week.
“We are anticipating another winter storm later this week and over the weekend, with a potential fourth storm early next week. This is proving to be a demanding and arduous period for plow truck drivers, utility crews, airport staff, and countless others who are tirelessly working to stay ahead of these winter storms.”
