Former Park Commission Treasurer Pleads Guilty to Embezzling Public Funds

The former Treasurer of the Caledonia Park Commission (CPC), Megan Berry, has pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement, according to an announcement by Mississippi State Auditor Shad White on Monday.

Berry admitted to stealing public funds that she accessed during her time with the CPC and using the money for personal expenses.

“I’m grateful that we’re able to work with prosecutors around the state on cases like this,” White said. “We will continue to work on cases big and small to ensure your money is spent properly.”

Berry’s case was handled in Lowndes County Circuit Court, where she received the following sentence:
