Police detained four people near Greenwood Thursday night after discovering an alleged “illegal narcotics laboratory.”
On March 6, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 900 block of Stone Road, near Smith Valley Road, to carry out a search warrant.
Officials found illegal drugs inside a laboratory actively producing hallucinogenic drugs, particularly LSD, during their search. The house is also mentioned as the address of a charity organization.
Due to the high demand for the discovery, Indiana State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration were brought in to assist. Several personnel worked together to clean up the lab.
The investigation led to the arrest of two men and two women, all of whom are from Greenwood. Those names will be mentioned if and when they are officially charged.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement following the incident:
“Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses. All information will be turned over to the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office for review and formal criminal charges. If you suspect illegal activity, please call the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 317-346-4654. If you see something suspicious, then say something. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office remains vigilant in its fight against illegal narcotics.”
