A fourth suspect has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man discovered at 9700 Leawood Boulevard on February 19. Cedric Albert Lewis, 34, faces murder charges in the 262nd State District Court.
The victim, 34-year-old Terry Meza Jr., was discovered unresponsive by Houston Police Department (HPD) officers in an apartment complex. He was transported to a local hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics and pronounced dead, according to HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Burrow and R. Watson.
Three other people have been charged in relation to the event. Ubong Esiere, 34, is facing murder charges in the 486th State District Court, while Tracy Burleson, 32, is charged in the 179th State District Court. Mackenly Nohemy Palomo Medina, 23, was charged with burglary in the 232nd State District Court.
The investigation resulted in the arrests of Palomo Medina on February 25 and Burleson on February 27. On March 25, members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force and the Houston Police Department’s Southeast Division Crime Suppression Team seized Esiere. Lewis was charged on April 2 and then detained by the HPD Southwest Division’s Crime Suppression Team on April 3, according to the news release.
