Among the major allocations are:
- $194.9 million for crime victims and violence against women. This funding aims to expedite victims’ recoveries and improve the criminal justice system.
- $56.5 million for Homeland Security to enhance state-level training and equipment in the fight against terrorism.
- $55.7 million for Operation Lone Star to boost border security and reduce criminal activity along Texas’ borders.
- $30.4 million for nonprofit security upgrades to protect religious and nonprofit organizations from potential terrorist threats.
The program combines federal and state funding to ensure these critical resources are available. Gov. Abbott emphasized that safeguarding all Texans remains the state’s top priority, with these grants serving as a powerful tool to address pressing safety challenges.
