A tragic incident occurred in Indianapolis when a road rage incident between two men turned deadly, as seen in a viral cellphone video.

On Tuesday night, Gavin Dasaur was discovered by the police with gunshot wounds in the middle of a street near an interstate on the southeast side of the city. He is 29 years old.

According to the investigation, Dasaur was shot during a confrontation with another driver while on the road. Witnesses who were present at the scene reported that the altercation occurred between Dasaur and the driver of a white Chevy pickup truck, ultimately resulting in the shooting.

As captured in a video by a witness, Dasaur stepped out of his black Honda and made his way towards the driver’s side of the white Chevy while brandishing a firearm in his right hand. He proceeded to punch the door and shout at the driver in a fit of rage.

Dasaur yelled out, “Do you want to play with me?!” with a tone of excitement.

First responders arrived at the scene to find Dasaur had been pronounced dead. It was discovered that the shooter had not left their car.

Please use caution while viewing the video below as it contains graphic content. The footage shows the altercation in question.

The Chevy driver was detained by the police, but later on, he was released as investigators suggested that he might have acted in self-defense.

Dasaur’s death has been officially ruled a homicide by the Marion County medical examiner’s office. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

He was married for more than two weeks before his demise, marking the end of Dasaur’s life.

In an interview with WTHR, Cinthya ZaMora, Dasaur’s wife, expressed that her husband was a diligent man who never hesitated to assist others and had a strong desire to provide for his family and loved ones. She conveyed her dismay over his untimely demise and stated that her husband’s murder was a tragic incident of cold-blooded violence.

Last year, Indianapolis witnessed 55 interstate shootings, as reported by Sgt. John Perrine of the Indiana State Police. A majority of these incidents are believed to be linked to disputes arising from road rage.

According to Perrine, although most confrontations do not result in injury or death, people’s inability to handle stressful or triggering situations effectively often leads to explosive encounters.

Officer Tommy Thompson emphasized the importance of taking charge of our emotions in all situations. According to him, it doesn’t matter if someone honks at you or drives slower than you would like, you should always remain in control of your emotions. Thompson shared this insight during an interview with WISH, highlighting how easily we allow others to control our emotional state.

According to the police, the most effective way to prevent road rage incidents is to avoid using aggressive gestures and quickly leave the scene if you feel your safety is at risk.

According to Perrine, the key to solving and closing the most successful cases is through reporting. If you happen to witness someone engaging in road rage, it may be helpful to call 911 and report the incident. Even if there is no visible gun or gunfire, providing this information could be beneficial in solving potential crimes.

An Indiana man, who was armed with a gun, was fatally shot after confronting another driver in a road rage incident. The incident occurred just two weeks after his wedding. The man ran up to the other driver and yelled, “You wanna play with me?!” before being shot.
