Although Caitlin Clark’s NCAA women’s basketball career was unmatched in terms of scoring, the Iowa Hawkeyes legend was never able to secure a national title.

In both 2023 and 2024, Clark’s Hawkeyes suffered defeats in the NCAA championship games. The first loss came at the hands of the LSU Tigers, led by Angel Reese, while the second defeat was inflicted by Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks squad.

It is evident that Caitlin Clark is an extremely competitive individual, and as a result, the two losses were undoubtedly devastating for her.

On Wednesday, a video went viral depicting the distress felt by Clark following his defeat against LSU in 2023.

In a heart-wrenching video posted by @soistaydown on social media, Clark can be seen breaking down and crying on the shoulder of her Iowa teammate, Monika Czinano, following their defeat in the 2023 national championship game. The emotional moment captures the raw disappointment and pain felt by the team after falling short of their ultimate goal.

As Clark breaks down, Czinano leans in and plants a soft kiss on her forehead, offering her comfort and support. Clark then wraps her arms around Czinano, and they share a heartfelt hug that brings tears to their eyes.

“I was seriously disturbed by the second half of this video,” read the caption accompanying the clip.

One X user responded to the video, which has garnered over 100,000 views, by stating, “This is a prime example of what it means to love and support your teammate.”

Clark’s experiences with loss have undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping her into the resilient and battle-tested player she is today for the Fever.
