Houston Neurologist Accused Of Attempting To Meet Up With Teen Girl Online

A Houston neurologist is facing significant charges after authorities claim he attempted to meet with someone he mistook for a teenage girl.

Jason Robert Thonhoff, 43, was arrested Thursday by Harris County Constable Pct. 1’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) team. According to Constable Alan Rosen, the arrest resulted from a lengthy investigation that began in 2023.

“This should be a warning to anyone trying to prey on children,” Rosen said. “We patrol cyberspace, and we will catch you. Protecting kids is our top priority.”

According to investigators, Thonhoff engaged in a series of sexually explicit chats and behaviors online while assuming he was conversing with a teen girl. In actuality, he was speaking with an undercover deputy.

The most recent action is said to have occurred a few weeks ago, in late April.

Thonhoff has now been charged with online solicitation of a minor, a crime that may place him in state prison for up to ten years.

Pct. 1 officials are asking anybody with knowledge about Thonhoff’s interactions with kids to contact their office at 713-222-4929.
