Cedar Grove police announced they apprehended a dozen members of a South American burglary crew attempting to burglarize Allendale on April 18.

The criminal crew, made up of Colombian locals, targeted the houses of Asian company owners in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina with weekly domestic burglaries, according to authorities.

Police described the crew’s actions as complicated, incorporating GPS, Wi-Fi jammers, police scanners, and lookouts. They said that the crews stole hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Cedar Grove police, who have been working with the FBI and ICE since last year, say they disrupted an attempted Allendale burglary, arrested the perpetrators, and seized three vehicles. Authorities confirmed that the arrested members are in federal custody.
