Identifying the Minnetonka couple who died in an alleged murder-suicide

Last week, authorities confirmed the identity of the elderly couple involved in a tragic murder-suicide in Minnetonka. Both individuals were in their 70s at the time of the incident.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, Patricia Ann Spitzmueller, a 71-year-old resident of Savage, was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound to the head in an apartment located at 12201 Minnetonka Boulevard on July 18th. The medical examiner ruled her death as a homicide.

Police were called to the scene at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday after receiving a report from a concerned neighbor. Upon arrival, they discovered the two individuals unresponsive and unfortunately pronounced them dead at the scene.

As per The Star Tribune obituary, the couple had been married for more than 50 years and leaves behind five children and four grandchildren.

At present, the police authorities have refrained from disclosing any additional details regarding the case.
