An Indiana man convicted of killing a police officer in 2000 will be executed by lethal injection on Tuesday morning.
Benjamin Ritchie, 45, was convicted of shooting and killing a Beech Grove officer in Marion County after a foot chase and has been on execution row for almost 20 years.
When Ritchie stood before the Indiana Parole Board this week, they recommended no clemency, and Indiana Gov. Braun agreed, allowing the execution to proceed.
This will be Indiana’s second execution in the past fifteen years.
