After a clip of a group of drag queens channeling the Last Supper during the opening ceremony for the Olympics in Paris went viral, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker took to social media to express his thoughts.
A group of drag queens recently put on a fashion show in Paris, and they certainly made a statement. They recreated a runway that showcased the city’s renowned fashion, with the queens appearing on screen in a pose similar to the iconic depiction of Jesus and his Twelve Apostles in Leonardo da Vinci’s mural painting.
Butker expressed his disbelief at the situation by posting on his Instagram Stories and including a screenshot of the scene with the words, “This is crazy.”
Butker referenced Galatians 6:7, which states, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked.”
According to reports, Butker, a devout Catholic, faced criticism for his commencement speech at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. During the speech, he expressed his belief that many women receiving their degrees were most looking forward to becoming homemakers.
Butker addressed the women and acknowledged the lies they have been told. He believes that the majority of them are looking forward to starting a family and being a mother. Butker shared that his wife, Isabelle, agrees that her life truly began when she embraced her role as a wife and mother.
In his speech, he made a reference to “people imposing harmful gender ideologies on the younger generation of America,” a term that GLAAD notes out “is coined by anti-LGBTQ activists to negate the fact that transgender and other gender-diverse individuals exist.”
