In a shocking turn of events, a man who was already behind bars on a capital murder  charge for his grandmother’s death is now facing new charges. This time, he is accused of killing his cellmate at the Harris County Jail.

Chad Maydwell is said to have fatally attacked Michael Griego on November 12, 2022. Griego was an inmate who had been jailed for aggravated assault of a family member.

A $1M bond has been set for a man who is accused of the murder of an 80-year-old grandmother in NW Harris County. According to documents, the suspect is currently in custody and awaiting trial. The incident has shocked the local community, as the victim was a beloved member of the neighborhood. The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to gather evidence and ensure justice is served in this tragic case.

Griego, who was awaiting trial, succumbed to his injuries after the assault.

In April 2022, Maydwell was already in jail, facing capital murder charges for the brutal killing of his grandmother, 80-year-old Judith Ellen Maydwell.

Maydwell had a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2009, including charges of criminal trespassing, assault, and resisting arrest. At the time of his grandmother’s murder, he was out on bond for indecent exposure.
