Iranian National With Suspected Terror Ties Apprehended In Mississippi

An Iranian national suspected of terror ties was arrested in Mississippi just days after the US hit nuclear targets in Iran.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Yousef Mehridehno was apprehended by ICE officers and agents on June 22 in Gluckstadt. According to a news statement, Mehridehno’s US residency was terminated in 2017 after it was discovered that he had misled on his original visa application and committed probable marital fraud.

Mehridehno was also added to the list of known or suspected terrorists in February. He is currently in ICE detention. Trent Kelly, Congressman for Mississippi’s First District, stated that secure borders are critical to American safety.

“Listen, it is a travesty that the previous administration thought it was ok to let anybody in, regardless of what they did, to release them freely in the US regardless of what crimes they had committed or we knew they committed, knowing they were enemies of America and to allow them to roam freely in the United States that is just a travesty we are even at this point,” said

Mehridehno was one of eleven Iranian nationals arrested by ICE this week for being in the United States illegally.
