We saw a few light showers this afternoon, but most of us stayed dry. This allowed the heat to take effect, with temperatures reaching the low to mid-90s, which is typical for this time of year.
Overnight, temperatures will drop to the mid-70s, with plenty of cloud cover and a few light showers in the early hours of Monday morning. These showers will be brief and non-impactful, possibly providing a quick sprinkle.
Monday will be even hotter. By the afternoon, temperatures will hit the mid-90s, with feels-like values around 100-105 degrees. Heat advisories are still in effect for some Alabama counties and could extend into Mississippi. We also face the possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon, so keep an umbrella handy.
On Tuesday, the threat of showers will increase as Beryl moves closer to our area. While it won’t be a direct hit and we don’t expect a washout, isolated showers and thunderstorms are likely. These rain chances will clear early Wednesday, giving way to lots of sunshine.
Temperatures will cool off after Monday, potentially dropping to the upper 80s by Wednesday. However, they’ll start climbing again beyond Wednesday. By next weekend, expect temperatures in the upper 90s. With the increasing heat, ensure you have ways to stay cool and hydrated.
