JD Vance is standing by his previous criticism of well-known elected Democrats as “childless cat ladies.”

During his interview with Megyn Kelly on SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Vance was questioned about his controversial remarks made in 2021 regarding those who choose not to have children. Specifically, Kelly asked Vance to address the backlash he received for using the derogatory term “cat ladies.”

Vance clarified that his comment was intended to be sarcastic, and he wanted to make it clear that he has no issues with cats or dogs. In fact, he even has a beloved dog at home that he adores.

Vance expressed his disappointment as people tend to overlook the real message and concentrate more on the sarcastic tone. He apologized to Megyn and emphasized that the substance of his statement is indeed true.

During an interview with Kelly on Friday, Vance recognized that Harris has stepchildren and Buttigieg has adopted children.

Vance expressed his well wishes to Kamala Harris, her stepchildren, and entire family while stating that it is not about her being inferior. Rather, he emphasized that her party’s pursuit of certain policies is deeply detrimental to children.

Despite criticism, Vance stood firm on his 2021 statements regarding the involvement of childless individuals in the future of the country. He maintained his view that those who have opted out of having children are unhappy.

According to the Ohio Republican senator and former vice presidential candidate, Democrats can be labeled as “anti-family” due to their liberal views on the negative aspects of having children. For instance, some young people have expressed their reluctance to have children because of concerns about climate change.

In his remarks, Vance emphasized two policy stances that he believes the Democrats have taken that are anti-family. He questioned why they are advocating for young children to wear masks during the pandemic and why they are proposing the elimination of the child tax credit, which helps reduce taxes for families with working parents and children. Vance reiterated these positions several times throughout his speech.

As a policy with bipartisan support, the child tax credit is incredibly valuable, reducing household tax bills by up to $2,000 per child. As part of the American Rescue Plan, Democrats temporarily expanded the credit in 2021 to a maximum of $3,600 per child. Although they aimed to make this expansion permanent, they were unable to do so due in large part to the unanimous opposition from Republicans, including Vance.

Kelly was confronted with Vance’s false claim that Democrats don’t support the Child Tax Credit (CTC). Vance made this claim despite the fact that the CTC already provides parents with a lower tax rate, which Democrats do support. An ABC News article published on Friday highlighted Vance’s previous statement advocating for lower taxes for parents as opposed to non-parents. A spokesperson for Vance clarified that the CTC already addresses this disparity and that Democrats are in favor of it.

It appears that Vance was implying that Democrats have previously endorsed the notion of requiring masks for children in settings such as schools and daycares.

In an email regarding his stance on abortion, Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, who is the expected Democratic presidential nominee, referred to Vance as a “creep” and “weird,” highlighting his interview with Kelly on Friday.
