A Harris County jury has found a Pasadena father not guilty of killing his newborn son.

Xavier Darren Whitaker has been declared innocent and is now a free man, as he has been cleared of the murder charges involving his infant son, Xavier Whitaker Jr. This long-standing legal dispute, which spanned several years, accused Whitaker of causing the fatal injuries to his son in 2020. The jury’s decision on November 21st finally brings an end to this harrowing ordeal.

In previous coverage, it was revealed through documents that the father has been charged with murder in the tragic death of his 6-week-old son in 2020.

On November 11, 2020, emergency crews responded to a call regarding an unresponsive baby at a Pasadena apartment complex. The newborn was quickly transported to a nearby hospital and later airlifted to Texas Children’s Hospital. Despite the dedicated efforts of doctors, the infant tragically passed away nine days later on November 20.

Whitaker is now able to walk free, as the verdict has cleared his name of the accusations.
