League City Police Department (LCPD) detectives, working alongside the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Task Force (OCTF) and the Dickinson Police Department, have apprehended Paul Hopkins III of Dickinson and Melissa Carlson of Pearland. The arrests are linked to a series of storage unit burglaries and drug trafficking activities.

Hopkins faces several charges, including:

  • Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (200g-400g): $250,000 bond
  • Two counts of Burglary of a Building: Bonds of $75,000 and $50,000
  • Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information (10-50 items): $75,000 bond

Carlson has been charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (200g-400g) and is held on a $250,000 bond.

Investigation and Arrests

The investigation began after a series of burglaries at a storage facility located in the 500 block of W FM 646 in League City. On November 14, detectives, accompanied by the Galveston County OCTF and Dickinson Police, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 5000 block of Bayou Drive, Dickinson. During the search, authorities discovered a large quantity of narcotics and stolen property worth thousands of dollars. Both suspects were arrested on-site and taken to the League City Jail.

A second search warrant was conducted on November 26 at the same storage facility. This operation led to the recovery of additional stolen items, which were loaded into a U-Haul truck and later returned to their rightful owners.

Acknowledgments

The League City Police Department praised its detectives and evidence team for their commitment and meticulous investigation, which brought the case to a resolution. They also thanked Public Storage Manager Derrill Hicks for his assistance and extended gratitude to the Galveston County OCTF and Dickinson Police Department for their vital support.
