A Madison man has been sentenced on child exploitation charges.
On March 7, 2024, the Ridgeland Police Department conducted an undercover investigation aimed at persons attempting to exploit juveniles.
Detectives posed as an underage male on a same-sex dating website and communicated with Mark Wayne Williams, 60.
Williams agreed to meet the youngster at a Ridgeland shop, where the suspect was eventually caught on March 9, 2024.
He was subsequently charged with child exploitation.
Williams pleaded guilty to the crime on September 16, 2024, and was sentenced to 15 years without bond in Mississippi Department of Corrections imprisonment, with the last ten years suspended.
Williams will also face five years of supervised probation upon his release and must register as a sex offender.
