A man is facing charges for breaking into several places of worship in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Steven Hildner, according to police reports, was responsible for a series of church break-ins and burglaries across Virginia. The crime spree, which lasted four months, commenced on April 11 and concluded on August 12.

On August 5th, the police were called to the 8200 block of Little River Turnpike, the location of Calvary Church of the Nazarene, in response to a burglary report. According to the authorities, Hildner had broken into the church overnight and attempted to steal items. However, it remains unclear whether he was able to successfully carry out the theft. No specific details were provided regarding the stolen items, if any.

Investigators successfully identified Hildner as a suspect and proceeded to take action. They promptly went to his residence in Loudoun County, armed with a search warrant. To their satisfaction, they discovered compelling evidence that linked him to six additional church burglaries across Fairfax County.

On Tuesday, Hildner faced arrest and was charged with five counts of Burglary, two counts of Grand Larceny, and other related charges. Currently, he is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without any possibility of posting bond.

Detectives are currently conducting an ongoing investigation to establish Hildner’s potential involvement in other burglary cases.
