A Montgomery man is charged with assault after allegedly shooting a person who stepped on his foot.
According to court documents, the incident happened around 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, during a party at 2269 East South Boulevard.
The victim was shot in the thigh and transported to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
According to court documents, the suspect was named as Marice Devonte Watkins, 31, who was detained and charged with first-degree assault.
According to records, he shot the victim “due to [the victim] accidentally stepping on Watkins shoe.”
Watkins is being jailed at the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $30,000 bond.
