According to Miami police, a man was arrested on Monday after stabbing his mother and grandmother.
Camron Donte Yarber, 21, is charged with attempted murder on two counts, according to an arrest report.
According to police, the stabbings occurred on Monday morning in the city’s Allapattah neighborhood.
Officers rushed to the 3600 block of Northwest 20th Avenue around 9 a.m. and discovered two victims with apparent stab wounds, according to authorities.
According to the arrest report, Yarber’s mother returned to her apartment with McDonald’s food for her son before the stabbings occurred.
Police claimed the lady took a shower and emerged to find Yarber standing on the bed, ranting at her and accusing her of “not being his mother.”
According to the report, the suspect’s grandma attempted to calm him down, but he dashed into the kitchen, got a knife, and stabbed his mother in the skull.
According to police, the mother placed her arms around her kid in an attempt to control him, but he got free and attacked his grandmother in the head and face.
According to the story, Yarber’s mother fled the apartment in search of aid, and her grandmother also escaped.
According to police, Yarber fled the scene.
According to the complaint, both victims walked to the apartment building’s management office, where a witness tried to stop the bleeding before calling 911.
Both victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where they were described as seriously injured.
When police arrived, they discovered a pool of blood in front of the flat, as well as in the elevator and lobby.
Police stated that both victims’ wounds were treated with stitches and staples.
Authorities say they discovered a knife in the elevator.
According to the report, cops discovered Yarber across the street from the apartment complex.
“After reading the defendant his Miranda rights, he was increasingly difficult and continually stated that he did not understand,” according to the report.
On Tuesday, Yarber appeared before a judge, who ordered his detention at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
The judge also issued a stay-away order, ordering him to avoid contact with his mother and grandmother and to relinquish any firearms.
Wednesday will be his next court appearance.
