A man in Harris County, Texas, was arrested Saturday night after a tense standoff with police following an alleged domestic violence incident. Authorities say the man threatened his wife with a knife while their three children were present in the home.

The woman was able to escape the situation and seek help, prompting the deployment of the Harris County SWAT team. Officers later located the man in an upstairs room with the children, who were unharmed. The man eventually surrendered peacefully to law enforcement.

The standoff occurred on Live Oak Green Court, near U.S. 90 in northeast Harris County. The man now faces charges of aggravated assault against a family member.

This alarming incident highlights the increasing cases of domestic violence in the Houston area. Local resources are available for victims seeking help, including the Houston Area Women’s Center hotline at 713-528-2121, the Family Time Crisis Center at 281-446-2615, and the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.
