A convicted sex offender is arrested after police say he attempted to abduct underage girls on multiple different occasions.
The attempted abductions happened in early April and May on Indianapolis’ northwest side.
Authorities said Michael Lindsey, 64, attempted to lure a female into his car in early April when she was strolling near Westlane Road. The second victim was walking in a neighborhood near Georgetown Road when she informed police that the perpetrator attempted to shove her into his car.
Fortunately, both girls escaped safely.
Traffic cameras provided investigators with evidence linking Lindsey to the crimes. He is now in detention on a $50,000 cash bond while formal charges from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office are pending.
Lindsey has previous convictions for child molestation, rape, and attempted criminal confinement before being released by the Department of Corrections in 2022.
