A 30-year-old Florida man, Saun Rainge Jr., was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the 2024 killing of his then-girlfriend and mother of their children, Porshe Streeter. Rainge asserted that a home invasion killed Streeter. However, police now claim he plotted the killing.
According to an affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, Saun Rainge Jr. called 911 on January 13, 2024, to report that his girlfriend, Porshe Streeter, had been shot. Streeter had been asleep with her three children when she was shot. When authorities arrived, they discovered Streeter dead in her bedroom, with Rainge suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. Rainge stated he had just spoken to Streeter and directed the officers to her lifeless corpse.
According to the document, Rainge said that the shooter followed him and held him at gunpoint. Rainge claims that once inside, the gunman shot Streeter when she sought to take her phone. Rainge stated that he attempted to ask neighbors for assistance. However, he stated that he stayed to care for Streeter at his son’s request. He explained that he had been telling Streeter to “keep fighting.”
Story Crumbles
An investigator, however, was not satisfied by Rainge’s story. The affidavit describes how Streeter’s wounds had crusted blood around them. Furthermore, the medical examiner’s assessment revealed some decomposition in Streeter’s body. These findings suggested that Streeter died long before authorities got on the site. Security footage and witness testimony support this theory, revealing that Streeter died two hours before Rainge called 911.
Furthermore, text conversations between Rainge and Streeter proved that Rainge was not intended to have access to the residence at the time of the shooting.
Further evidence led to the arrests of Saun Rainge Jr. and Benjamin Garmon. Garmon is accused of shooting Streeter to death on Rainge’s orders. According to authorities, Rainge then attempted to conceal his tracks by stating that the incident was the result of a house invasion.
“Rainge’s story didn’t right true for our homicide detectives, who have worked tirelessly on this case for more than a year to secure justice for Porshe,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office wrote on X.
As a result, Saun Raing Jr. and Benjamin Garmon were charged with first-degree murder in relation to Porshe Streeter’s shooting.
