A man wanted in California for his involvement in a vehicular manslaughter incident has been arrested in Smith County.
The Smith County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with the U.S. Marshals on Thursday, February 6th to apprehend Jimmy Ray Whitehead at around 6:45 a.m.
Whitehead, who is sixty-two years old, was apprehended at his residence in the northern part of the White Oak community.
Officials in Riverside County, California were actively seeking Whitehead, who faced charges of vehicular manslaughter. However, specific details regarding the charges were not provided.
Whitehead will face prosecution in California and will be extradited there.
