A man is wanted for animal abuse after striking and seriously injuring a cat on a Manhattan street, authorities said Friday.
On December 4, at around 12:30 a.m., the suspect noticed the feline at East 9th Street and Avenue D in the East Village.
According to police, the man took a wooden stool and punched the cat, breaking its jaw and fracturing vertebrae in its neck and back.
The Brooklyn Animal Welfare Coalition received the cat in stable condition.
A video of the event shows a brown dog and a gray cat chatting on the sidewalk before the suspect walks forward. A garbage pile, complete with a wooden stool, is located right close to the animals.
The last sighting of the suspect included a black jacket, gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and gray sneakers..
