When you commit a crime in Texas, you will face consequences, even if you try to run from them.

One man learned these facts the hard way when he was arrested in Texas for many counts of child sexual abuse and was discovered hiding in Cozumel, Mexico.

Who is the Suspect and Details on His Charges

According to NBCDFW, Rogelio “Christopher” Gonzales is wanted for child sexual abuse charges dating back to 2012.

Gonzales is currently in custody and will face charges in Johnson and Tarrant counties.

How Was the Suspect Found?

The particular method by which law police located Gonzales is unclear, however he was recently detained after being discovered to be living and working as a dive instructor in Cozumel.

As you might imagine from a case that had been ongoing for so long, law enforcement was relieved to finally apprehend Gonzales.

He is now in detention at the Johnson County Law Enforcement Center on a $1 million bond, but just for the Johnson County accusations.

Gonzales is also required to post a $50,000 bond for the charges in Tarrant County.

Law Enforcement Won’t Let Up in Texas

The Assistant DA Christy May said, “this arrest demonstrates our office’s unwavering commitment to pursuing justice, regardless of how long it takes.”

It is unclear when Gonzales’ next court date will be.

Once again, we cannot thank the law enforcement officers who work to protect Texas residents.

They are diligently searching for individuals who have committed past crimes in the Lone Star State.
