The United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia announced on Thursday that a Maryland drug and firearms trafficker has been sentenced to 17 years in federal prison.
A federal jury convicted Thomas Emmanuel Williams, 52, of 12 drug and firearms trafficking crimes in January.
According to court documents, Williams sold ten firearms, three machine guns, ammo, and hundreds of oxycodone, codeine, and fentanyl pills to an undercover law enforcement agent.
According to court documents, Williams sold many privately built firearms with no serial numbers, and a few Glocks had a “Glock switch” function that turned the handgun into a fully automatic firearm.
According to the USAO, Williams arranged to sell firearms, ammunition, and drugs on four consecutive days via video and phone contacts.
Williams met the undercover source in the parking lots of shopping malls in Laurel and Hyattsville, Maryland, and sold the products for thousands of dollars in cash.
The firearms sold included the following:
- Hi Point 45 ACP Pistol
- 9mm Rifle
- Taurus 85 Ultra Lite .38 Special Revolver
- Two AR-style 5.56mm pistols
- Glock 21.45 Auto Pistol
- Glock 43 9mm Pistol
- Three “Glock switches,” classified as machine guns
