An employee at the Miccosukee Casino and Resort in Miami was detained for allegedly stealing from a gambling machine.
Gilberto Gabriel Dinis, 69, of Hialeah, was detained Friday on charges of employee theft of slot machine proceeds.
The casino’s human resources department alerted police after Dinis was fired for thefts from a gaming machine. An arrest record stated that Dinis redeemed and paid out 13 game vouchers totaling $568.87.
Dinis was detained when he was summoned to the casino to collect his final salary.
Dinis confessed to authorities, but it was removed from the report.
Records show that he was later placed into jail.
