Brittany Walker, 34, and Samuel Payton, 62, were charged with torture for allegedly assaulting a wheelchair-bound man in Michigan. The violent attack escalated further; Walker and Payton allegedly attempted to push bleach down the victim’s throat.

According to Fox 2, the event occurred on January 29 in an apartment on Conant Street. Walker and Payton allegedly had a heated argument with an anonymous 44-year-old wheelchair-bound guy. The disagreement escalated into an alleged assault by Walker and Payton.

However, the worst had yet to come. Walker and Payton allegedly began abusing the crippled man by attempting to get him to drink bleach. According to Poison.org, concentrated bleach ingestion can cause irreversible gastrointestinal damage and possibly death.

The crippled victim was sent to a local hospital, according to officials. The alleged assault left the victim with a cerebral hemorrhage and a fractured left orbital wall.

According to jail documents obtained by the New York Post, Brittany Walker and Samuel Payton were detained on February 20th, about a month after the alleged attack.

According to the Centre Daily Times, Walker was charged with torture, first-degree vulnerable adult abuse, assault with intent to cause grave bodily damage, and domestic violence. Payton was charged with torture and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily damage. Walker was initially charged with felonious assault, but the allegation was modified to domestic violence in April, according to authorities.

The relationship between the suspects and the victim is yet unclear. Walker and Payton are set to appear in court on May 28.

Bleach Attach

In a similar bleach-related case, Matthew Johnson will be executed eight days before his court appearance on May 20 for the gruesome murder of 76-year-old convenience store clerk Nancy Harris.

According to KFMX, on May 20, 2012, Johnson sprayed bleach or lighter fluid on Harris. Harris inaugurated the Fina Whip-In business in Garland, Texas, just minutes before the attack. Despite Harris’ efforts to access the register, Johnson calmly exited the business and set fire to her.

Days later, Nancy Harris was removed from life support. Matthew Johnson, exactly 13 years after murdering Harris, will be executed by lethal injection on May 20, 2025.
