A Minnesota man is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly attacking a Greene County Sheriff’s deputy.
According to court filings, Taylor Grobove was attempting to return to Minnesota when a Greene County deputy picked him up from a Guthrie County deputy and handed him over to a Webster County Sheriff’s Office deputy. When the deputy arrived at the location to deliver Grobove to the Webster County Deputy, Grobove made strange remarks, asking the Greene County Deputy to kill him and threatening to steal the patrol vehicle.
According to court documents, when the deputy opened the back door to let Grobove go, Grobove assaulted him by kicking his face, resulting in a bruise and swelling of the deputy’s eye. Grobove also attempted to grab a weapon from the deputy’s belt. The deputy defended himself by punching Grobove in the face. When the Webster County Deputy arrived, Grobove was restrained and taken to Greene County Jail.
According to the criminal complaint, Grobove was charged with three Class D felonies: attack on persons in specified vocations with the purpose to injure, disarming a peace officer, and assault while participating in a felony. The same day, they placed him in Greene County Jail and scheduled a preliminary hearing for March 12. Raccoon Valley Radio will provide more information when it becomes available.
