Police arrested a woman for leaving her two young children inside a hot, parked car while shopping at a beauty store.

According to Miami Police, Albany Patrick, 37, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the River Landing shopping area around 1400 NW North River Drive.

Officers said her 2 21/2-year-old son and 22-month-old daughter were found sweating in the back seat of her car, which was turned off and had the windows cracked approximately four inches.

According to authorities, one child was asleep in a car seat while the other was not wearing a seatbelt.

About 20 minutes after parking, Patrick returned to the car, holding an Ulta Beauty bag. According to the arrest report, surveillance video captured her entering the business at 12:23 p.m. and returning at 12:43 p.m.

The children were sent to the Miami Police’s Special Victims Unit for evaluation. They brought Patrick in, but she exercised her right to remain silent.

The Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center eventually lodged her on a child neglect allegation.
