A new set of charges has been filed against the suspect accused of killing Lauren Heike in north Phoenix. The suspect is now facing additional felony charges in a separate criminal case.
Zion W. Teasley’s murder case for Heike’s death is still pending in Maricopa County Superior Court. However, a recent case has been filed against the defendant, accusing him of multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, which is classified as a Class 2 felony.
The alleged offenses took place in March 2019, approximately four years prior to the tragic death of Heike, 29, on a hiking trail near Libby Street and 66th Way.
In Maricopa County, there is an ongoing criminal case against Teasley, who is 24 years old. This case involves charges of assault and burglary, which are said to have taken place in 2020.
Teasley will face arraignment for the fresh charges in the upcoming week.
