Mayor Groves opened the meeting at 6PM followed by Council approval of the consent agenda - minutes from the previous meeting on June 7, 2022.

Action Items - Mayor Groves opened nominations for Mayor Pro-Tem with Larry Land and current Mayor Pro-Tem Jane Huffman being nominated.  By a 4-2 vote, Council approved Huffman for another term as Mayor Pro-Tem.

Other items included approving the second and final reading of Ordinance 1340 of the City of Brady, Texas adopting a Specific Use Provision (SUP) as requested by Lisa Berglund to allow for a Bed and Breakfast Inn or Facility, in a Single Family Residential District for property located at 1004 S. College St.

Also approved was the second and final reading of Ordinance 1341 of the City of Brady, Texas adopting a zoning change from Single Family Residential District to Manufactured Home District for property located at 1817 Old Mason Rd.  Approval was also given for the second and final reading of Ordinance 1342 to amend the FY 22 Budget to allow for municipal purposes.

The next item was a discussion on whether or not any action by Council was needed in reference to citizens trapping within the city limits.  City Manager Erin Corbell stated there have been complaints regarding individuals trapping axis deer in close proximity to neighborhoods and homes. Since it is not against city ordinance or state law and citizens do have the right to trap in their own property, Council voted not to take any action on the item.
