Non-English speaking unlicensed driver apprehended on U.S. 301

A non-English-speaking unlicensed driver was arrested on U.S. 301 after he was caught driving a vehicle with a non-functioning headlight.

San Sebastian Meza Dominguez, 22, of Orlando, was driving a white Dodge pickup on U.S. 301 near County Road 216 in Oxford shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday when a traffic stop was initiated, according to a report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy who made the traffic stop discovered that Dominguez does not speak English. Dominguez admitted, through a translator, that he does not have a driver’s license and has lived in Florida for three years.

He was arrested on the charge of driving without a license. He was booked at Sumter County Detention Center, and the United States Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on his detention.
