On Wednesday, officials from the New York State Department of Labor and local elected officials visited Doron Precision Systems facility to witness the innovative driving simulators produced by the company.

Doron’s driving simulators offer a highly precise and immersive simulation of operating a variety of vehicles, including 18-wheelers, fire trucks, airport snowplows, and military vehicles. As the Department of Labor reports a shortage of CDL drivers in New York State, these simulators present a novel solution for training aspiring drivers.

The simulator is a great tool that eliminates the need to worry about accidents, fuel costs, and wear and tear on vehicles. Moreover, it boosts the confidence of new drivers by removing the nerves associated with operating a real CDL-required vehicle.

According to Commissioner Roberta Reardon of the New York State Department of Labor, technology plays a crucial role in the safe training of aspiring drivers.

According to Reardon, simulators are becoming increasingly popular for training purposes across various industries. He noted that the army and airport snow removal crews are just a few examples of those who use simulators to train employees in a safe and effective manner. “This is the safest way to train anybody to do this work,” Reardon stated. He also emphasized that simulators eliminate the need to put someone in harm’s way by allowing them to learn without actually operating a real-life vehicle or machinery.

Drivers can benefit from simulators that provide a complete view of the road, similar to what they would experience in an actual truck. These simulations feature cars that behave like real drivers, pulling aside for emergency vehicles, navigating through construction zones, and passing other cars on a two-lane road.

Experience real-life driving scenarios with simulators that simulate driving at night, navigating through rain and snowstorms, and even practicing plowing airport runways during a snowstorm.

Doron Don Wenzinger, the President and CEO of the company, has highlighted the extensive use of simulators in training new members of the armed forces. This training methodology has proven to be highly effective in preparing individuals for their roles in service.

According to Wenzinger, they offer basic truck simulators to train new soldiers. He explained that many new soldiers join the Army, Air Force, or Marines without a driver’s license and are assigned to drive large vehicles. This can be a daunting task for them, but the simulators are designed to provide them with the necessary training and build their confidence before they get behind the wheel of the actual vehicle.

If you’re considering a career as a CDL driver, the New York State Department of Labor is currently seeking individuals like yourself. To learn more about this opportunity, simply visit their website by following this link.
