Jannetta Pearl Williams, age 63, of Brady, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in San Angelo, Texas. A beautiful baby girl, Jannetta was born on September 11, 1958 in Brady, Texas to Clay Williams, Jr. and Pearlie Mae Bradley Williams. Jannetta attended Brady Public Schools, graduated from Brady High School, and attended nursing school for a period of time. She lived in Ft. Worth, Texas for many years where she was employed with Fort Worth ISD, thus the nickname, “Ft. Worth”.
Later she moved back to Brady and was a substitute teacher for Brady ISD, a caregiver for her mother, and the party planner for her family. She loved to sing, dance and cook. Jannetta accepted Christ at a young age and was a lifelong member of the St. James Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Secretary, and President of the St. James Women’s Auxiliary Missionary Society II. Jannetta worked for the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, Ron Jackson Unit in Brownwood, Texas for over 15 years. She was awarded the Texas Corrections Association’s 2013 Outstanding Juvenile Corrections Line Officer of the Year. She received this award for her work with the “PAWS” program, a program where the juveniles trained service dogs. She met and adopted her beloved pets, Vickie and Leelo at this time.
Funeral services for Jannetta Pearl Williams will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Brady with Reverend Morris C. Williams and Reverend Vernon G. Jones officiating and Reverend Ernest Kirk and Reverend Harold Hogan assisting. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. The family will receive friends Friday, October 15, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Pallbearers will be Nate Davis, Curtis Williams, Vernon Jones, Jr., Timothy Jones, Timothy Isaah Jones, and Reggie Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ezekiel Jones, Phiderric Stidom, Gregory Hinton, J.P. Stidom, P. J. Stidom, Ronny Williams, Calvin Thomas, Danny Gaines, and Christopher Gonzales.
Jannetta Pearl Williams is survived by her mother Pearlie Mae Williams of Brady, TX; daughter Kara Williams of Brady, TX; brothers Reverend Morris C. “Butch” Williams and wife Wynona of Brady, TX and Jerry Leviston and wife Anne of Rusk, TX; sisters Martha D. Jones and husband Reverend Vernon G. Jones of Brady, TX and Pamela Lyons of Arlington, TX; grandchildren Christopher Gonzales, Alyssa Williams, and Calvin Thomas; sister-in-law Ann Foster of Fort Worth, TX; uncle Clarence “Bubba” Williams; aunt I’Wanda Session and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and her beloved dogs, Vickie and Leelo. She was preceded in death by her father, Clay Williams, Jr., brothers Calvin Williams and Rodney Williams, and step-sister Sherry Demus Kelley.
