Authorities are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in Flowood on Sunday.
Flowood officers made an attempt to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle located on Lakeland Drive near Treetops Boulevard, according to a press release.
According to the release, as one of the police approached the vehicle, the passenger exited and shot the officer in the stomach.
The passenger was struck by the return fire from Flowood PD.
Jaylon Robinson, an 18-year-old resident of Brandon, sustained fatal injuries, while the officer who was shot suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The other officer did not sustain any significant physical injuries.
During the incident, WLBT crews witnessed two additional individuals being placed under arrest at the location.
The case is now being taken over by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
