A couple from Oklahoma went missing during a scuba diving session off the coast of Texas. Despite an extensive search that lasted for 36 hours, authorities were on the verge of abandoning all hope.

Suddenly, an extraordinary event occurred.

According to Nathan’s uncle, Charles Owen, the couple from Edmond, Oklahoma, frequently goes diving, but they always make sure to take necessary precautions.

On Wednesday morning, the Makers vanished while scuba diving with a group in the Gulf of Mexico.

According to Owen, all the divers had surfaced and were preparing to get back to the boat as a storm was approaching. However, just as the 16 divers got into the boat, a swell suddenly came in and engulfed them all.

As they tried to inflate their safety devices and emerge to the surface, Nathan and Kim were met with a fierce storm that proved to be too overpowering for them. Sadly, they were unable to make it through and were lost.

According to Owen, the Coast Guard got in touch around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, notifying him that the couple had gone missing earlier that day.

Rescue crews scoured a vast 1,656 sq. mile-grid in the Gulf in search of the missing individuals.

After almost 36 hours, Owen received news that the authorities were on the brink of discontinuing their search. They had thoroughly combed through the entire grid.

Owen shared that they had already lost hope at that point.

A stroke of luck occurred when Owen spotted something from a plane that was reportedly on its final journey outside the grid on Thursday night.

Owen recounted how Nathan and Kim used their diving flashlights to signal an S.O.S. while pointing at the bottom of the plane.

Early Friday morning, Nathan and Kim Maker were spotted by a Coast Guard aircraft approximately 20 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, according to a new video. The sighting was made possible by the aircraft’s advanced technology.

As the plane made its final pass, it spotted them. Luckily, the boats were able to come to their rescue.

Owen was filled with awe as he exclaimed, “This is a miracle.”

According to KFOR, Nathan was on the verge of a diabetic coma and Kim had an infection when they were discovered. The two had suffered from several jellyfish stings and extreme dehydration. The family is optimistic that they will be able to bring Kim and Nathan back home in the near future.

Owen expressed his gratitude to everyone for their concerns and prayers. According to him, the miracle was made possible by the Coast Guard through God’s direction.
