A woman from Othello, Washington, was killed on June 14, 2025, in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 26 that also left three Oregon teenagers seriously injured.
According to the Oregon State Police, the incident occurred at 3:58 p.m. near milepost 2 near Seaside. According to investigators, a Toyota Avalon driven by an unidentified 16-year-old crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound Toyota Camry head-on.
The Camry’s driver, Lynette Marie Love of Othello, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three teens in the Avalon, the 16-year-old driver, 19-year-old Ricardo Brooks Gorwood of Canby, and 18-year-old Jacob William Dahl of Molalla, were hospitalized with serious injuries.
The freeway was stopped for around seven hours for the on-scene inquiry. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
Love’s sister, Birdie Fought, posted the following comment about her sibling on social media:
“…we lost our sister & we are shattered. We’re caught up in
emotions of outrage, sadness, heartbreak, disbelief and loss. Please pray for my sister’s son & our family. You may be gone, but you’ll never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Lynette. We love you more than words can express, and you’ll be forever missed.”
