A tornado watch is still in effect for certain areas of Louisiana and Texas until 2 a.m. CST Friday.

The NWS has issued a warning for several areas, including Natchitoches, Alexandria, Jasper, and Port Arthur. Residents are being cautioned about the potential for strong tornadoes, hail as large as golf balls, and wind gusts reaching up to 65 mph.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado watch that has a significant impact on over 1 million residents, 484 schools, and 72 hospitals in the affected region. It is crucial for residents to stay vigilant and keep track of weather updates as conditions may change rapidly. It is also advised to be prepared for any potential changes in weather conditions.

Local authorities stress the significance of having a safety plan ready. In the event of a tornado warning, it is crucial to relocate to a resilient interior room situated on the lowest floor of your residence.

The threat of severe weather will decrease after midnight, but emergency services will continue to be ready to help the communities impacted.
