On Saturday afternoon, Liberty Diner suffered damage to its front due to a car crash in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Octavia Romero, the owner, expresses his surprise at the unexpected turn of events.

During the lunch rush hour, Romero was startled by an alarming sound. Quickly investigating, he discovered that a car had crashed into the building.

Upon reviewing the security footage, it was revealed that the brick exterior and interior of the building sustained damage from the impact. However, the wall managed to withstand the force of the collision and did not collapse. Romero promptly checked on the well-being of the driver and any potential customers, and immediately contacted 911 for assistance.

Romero recounts the police arriving and asking about the well-being of everyone present. He assured them that everyone was safe. Romero then checked on the customers and offered to call an ambulance, but they declined, stating that they were slightly frightened but ultimately unharmed.

According to Linda Herron, a waitress with 46 years of experience, she has never witnessed anything like this before.

As Herron was conversing with his customers, a sudden sound caught everyone’s attention. “It was just crazy,” he recalls. “It kinda rocked a little, and then everything started falling off the tables.”

According to her, fear was etched on everyone’s face when the incident occurred. However, she is relieved that her customers were unharmed.

Herron expressed his surprise and relief that no one was hurt following the incident. He recounted how every employee came running out, asking what had happened.

According to Romero, he is currently reconstructing the wall and fixing the destruction caused.

According to him, the Liberty Diner is determined to remain open and serve the people of Fort Wayne despite the repairs that need to be done.
