A passenger in a speeding car was arrested on drug charges when an officer discovered a container of methamphetamine secreted in her crotch area.
An officer was directly behind the driver of a silver Chevy Silverado, whose passenger was later identified as 31-year-old Chelsy Marie Young of Ocala, on County Road 25 about 9:15 a.m. Sunday, according to a Lady Lake Police Department arrest report. Radar paced the vehicle, traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone.
The officer then stopped the vehicle and stated the reason to the male driver. Young gladly produced her Florida driver’s license, and the officer inquired about any illicit goods in the vehicle. The report stated that both occupants said no.
Young began to quiver wildly, clutching her purse. A K-9 team arrived on the scene and began sniffing over the vehicle’s exterior. According to the report, the K-9 detected the odor of narcotics on the passenger side, where Young was sitting.
A search for both occupants ensued. The officer asked Young if she carried any sharp items or illegal substances, a denial she made. However, she continued to grab around her vagina, according to the report.
After reaching down again, Young handed the officer a hypodermic syringe. The officer swept her crotch area and felt a firm item. He made Young unbutton her trousers, and between her slacks and panties was a clear plastic container with a lid. According to the report, the container contained a clear, rock-like substance.
The material later tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 0.15 grams. The report correctly documented and disposed of the hypodermic needle.
Young was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. The Michigan native was taken to Lake County Jail and then freed after paying a $3,500 bond.
