A Pennsylvania man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested and a stolen vehicle was recovered as a result of a routine traffic stop in Allegany County, Maryland, authorities reported.

Around 10:50 p.m. on Monday, a deputy from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on National Highway in LaVale. It was found that the driver, David L. Russian from Central City, Pennsylvania, had an active arrest warrant issued in Pennsylvania. Furthermore, the vehicle he was driving had been reported stolen in Somerset, Pennsylvania.

Deputies discovered suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during their search.

The Russian individual has been accused of committing several offenses, including unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle, theft, possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Currently, he is being held at the Allegany County Detention Center and is awaiting his first court hearing.
